Pre breeding care for lovebirds

English budgie nesting boxes are mostly preferred, as they are open on the side with a sliding and two-way door. They also feature a little-uplifted platform towards the entrance. There is a low area for the female parrot to nest.
The nesting box should not have ‘swollen’ sliding doors as it may become very difficult for you to inspect the eggs. Lovebirds generally make elaborate nests and you don’t mostly need them. Nevertheless, if your lovebird is a lazy nest maker, you may have to keep the wooden pieces so that eggs don’t come rolling around in the nest box.
Nutrition for breeding birds and newborns
You need to take care of the diet of the breeding couples and also cleanliness around them. They cannot be forced to live in dirty cages. Nutrition decides about the quality and health of breeding pairs and their young. They must be supplied a healthy diet with lots of variety.
